• holistic care for carers

      Caring for Carers

A carer is any individual who provides care and support to a family member or friend who has a disability, mental illness, drug and/or alcohol dependency, chronic condition, terminal illness or who is frail. We support the health and wellbeing of all carers and our goal is to provide them with holistic services, tools and support they need to keep caring. Our 'Caring for Carers' campaign provides 1:1 and group programs that target the needs of carers to better support their physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. The role of a carer can be due to short or long term circumstances which can impact their own health and wellbeing. The Zen Org. uses these funds to meet the individual needs of a carer when address the challenges they are currently faced with alongside providing practical holistic tools to support them on going. Across NSW there are approximately 904,400 carers (ABS, 2015) and for many it becomes a full time job which means they forfeit the ability to work and earn money to support their needs. Often self care takes a back seat due to financial circumstances and taking the time so we aim to address these through what and how we provide our services.

    • holistic care for mental health

      Mental Wellbeing

Mental wellbeing has been at the forefront of many health organisations and with increasing statistics there is a reason why. The Black Dog Institute and Mission release a youth mental health report sharing that 30% of young woman (15 - 19 years) are experiencing psychological distress. This statistic alongside the overall one in five (20%) Australians aged 16-85 that are experiencing a mental illness in any year is an alarming number of people living with anxiety, depression and/or substance use disorders. The Zen Organisation Inc. aim to provide holistic services and programs to improve the wellbeing of those in need whether as a preventative or management measure to mental wellbeing. This cause holds the objective of giving the individual the opportunity to explore what is going to work for them alongside the appropriate care they need.

    • holistic care for kids with disabilities

      Children with Special Needs

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) reported in 2009, around two thirds (67%) of children with a disability required assistance with day to day activities. Around half (48%) of all children with a disability required assistance with cognitive or emotional activities such as decision making or thinking through problems, coping with feelings or emotions, and making friendships, maintaining relationships or interacting with others. Other activities that children with a disability might have required assistance with included communication (39%), mobility (32%), self-care (28%) and health care (25%). The Zen's campaign to holistically support children with special needs through 1:1 care or group specialised programs is to provide an opportunity for families to explore new ways that their children can improve their overall sense of wellbeing. Through this program we also address the impact that caring for children with special needs has on the parents or primary care giver and offer our services where it is needed on a case by case basis.

    • holistic care for pre and post natal

Fertility, Pre & Post Natal Care

Infertility effects 1 in 6 couples and is contributed by various female and male factors. In 40% of couples the cause of infertility is attributed to a sperm factor, in another 40% the cause is found within the female reproductive system, and a third will have a combination of male and female factors. Whilst conceiving may present challenges to some couples, sustaining a healthy 'full term' pregnancy may also. Our fertility, pre and post natal care campaign helps to address some of the underlying factors that contribute to the overall health and wellbeing of individuals at each stage of the journey. Through holistic therapies, courses, education and support services we aim to provide individualised care alongside group programs that empower and inform both men and woman physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually so they can choose what is right for them and their bodies.

    • Support The Zen

We aim to provide a safe and comfortable space for the community to come and receive our services which requires ongoing up keep and management. When you donate to the Zen 100% of these profits contribute to the running costs of our studio in Brookvale and any paid services we need to support it. Without the space we can't offer this level of subsidised therapies or programs and therefore rely on the support of the community that benefit directly or indirectly from our services being provided and for us to grow into the future.
